ASI's mission is to inspire new and innovative business practices, guide consumers to make informed choices, and deliver products and services that better fulfill life-stage needs Summary Oversees the marketing efforts of all health (excluding Medicare), caregiving, and financial service providers for AARP, ensuring those efforts meet the brand guidelines, marketing experience standards, and contractual expectations of AARP. Drives ASI's marketing growth initiatives for these categories, leveraging proprietary business models (consulting agreements, cooperative marketing resources, data, and digital products) to deliver growth enablers in key provider accounts. Responsibilities Oversees the brand and marketing experience created by ASI's ancillary health (excludes Medicare products), caregiving, and financial providers. Reviews and has a strategic understanding of provider marketing plans, which exceed $350M annually and include broadcast, direct, online/offline, retail, and distribution agent delivery. Facilitates compliance review of branded marketing materials, ensuring alignment with brand and marketing strategies. Leads the effectiveness of provider marketing where consulting agreements or provider-funded business models exist. Drives integration of AARP's enterprise priorities (personalized experience, grow membership, improving multicultural relevance, and expanding community based efforts) into provider business and marketing strategies. Serves as the "go to" starting point for all things marketing communications (marcom) across the provider strategies, AARP's channels, enterprise priorities, cooperative marketing programs, and consulting deliverables. Filters in those strategies and impacts to the provider accounts. Establishes the annual marketing growth plan, identifying specific ASI deliverables (marketing, data, and digital enablers) and leading on-time deliverables that drive measurable performance. Requirements Completion of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years of experience in marketing, communications, and/or public relations. Blend of for- and non-profit background preferred, ideally with experience in affinity/partner marketing and client/agency management models. Experience in financial services and healthcare marketplaces preferred. People management and matrix management experience required. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship management skills required. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills required. Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers and stakeholders, while fostering strong relationships desired. Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and achieve outcomes without decision-making authority is also highly desired. Creative problem solver and solutions-oriented individual. Ability to understand and influence a diverse set of product marketing strategies across a variety of channels (direct mail, DRTV, agent, digital, public relations, and outreach). Proven strategic planning and project management skills to drive successful marketing deliverables and programs through completion are critical. An innovative direct marketer -- modern digital and data savvy expert adept at improving performance. A diplomat that is a nimble and collaborative people-person who builds strong, trusting, and respectful relationships. A strategic thinker with a visionary perspective who can align enterprise strategies with provider objectives.
