Our Technical Services Division provides research, development, analysis and field service support to advance the architecting and fielding of advanced sensor systems for ISR and Force Protection missions. Our System Division provide the engineering design, development of complete and integrated solutions from hardware to software for sensors, systems and command and control architecture. MTEQ is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with extensive knowledge and strong communication skills to join our team of well qualified, diverse individuals at our Lorton, VA office. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: The Lead Electrical Engineer role supports the design and development of EO/IR Sensor Systems and Embedded Electronics/Computing Systems for military applications. The selected candidate will provide technical contributions and leadership to a dynamic team of Electrical, Electronic and Firmware Engineers working in the prototype development and transition/fielding of leading edge technologies supporting MTEQ's military customer base. The candidate will work in a fast-paced R&D environment, utilizing sophisticated technologies to support the rapid development of prototype systems for military, federal and commercial projects primarily involving EO/IR Sensor Systems, but also including Radar and other sensing modalities. The candidate will be responsible for the design, development and testing of these systems, alongside leading experts in their field as part of a multi-disciplinary development team. REQUIREMENTS: Strong knowledge and experience in the research and development of ground and/or airborne systems used in DoD/Military applications.Experience supporting new product development and fielding for DoD/Military applications.Prior experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in new product development and testing.Strong knowledge of Electrical, Electronic, and Firmware design methodologies and solutions.Experience leading the Architecture and Schematic design of complex electrical/electronic 'Systems of Systems' comprised of COTS, GOTS and custom electronic hardware. Experienced specifying, designing and developing custom wire harness assemblies for the integration of these systems.Experience developing engineering drawings, documents and procedures. Conduct reviews and analysis of engineering data developed by other staff for compliance with appropriate military/aerospace standards and industry practices.Experience developing innovative solutions for the upgrade of fielded military/aerospace electronic systems and prototypes, including surveillance/imaging systems and related componentsExpertise in the diagnosis of challenging technical/performance problems with existing/fielded systems and components.Experienced in the specification, design and development of custom circuit card assemblies to realize needed system interfaces and capabilities.DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Development of prototype/technology demonstrator systemsIntegration, operation and testing of Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) Sensor SystemsInterface of Camera Link, GigE Vision, CoaxPress and related industrial imaging protocolsIntegration and testing of industrial/embedded form-factor computing hardware, related interfaces and accessories, including embedded CPUs, GPGPUs and FPGA processing elementsLeading Integrated Product Teams in the development of subsystems/components, responsible for cost, schedule and technical performance of the IPT tasksField testing in remote locations and/or from aircraftSolidWorks Electrical, Altium Designer, OrCAD or similar electrical/electronic CAD software packagesEmbedded software development or VHDL/Verilog FPGA firmware development is a plusREQUIREMENTS: BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent disciplineAt least 10 years of related experienceSECURITY CLEARANCE: Ability to obtain Security clearance required.
