REC has a job opening for a Mechanic in the Bowling Green area. High School diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma) required.Must have at least five 5 years of experience with automotive gasoline and or diesel maintenance and repair, to include general shop experience with welding, electrical, A/C, computer, and hydraulic repairs. Preferred qualification include 7 or more years of experience. Technical experience working in an automotive service center. Certifications in any or all of these fields. Must possess an effective knowledge or ability to learn the care and maintenance of Company vehicles, power tools, and other equipment. Should also have some working knowledge of keeping maintenance records, use of shop equipment and personal hand tools.Must be skilled and able to diagnose vehicle and other equipment problems with the use of various shop equipment such as, mig welders, electric arc welder, gas welder, drill press, band saw, etc. Must learn the Company's safety rules that apply to this job. Must have a working knowledge of the operation of hydraulics, diesel engines, gasoline engines, automotive electronics, etc. Must be able to obtain needed information for repairs from shop manuals. Must have a valid Virginia Commercial Driver's license and possess the necessary knowledge to be able to be licensed as Certified Inspector Mechanic by Department of State Police of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
