Job Description

As a Digital Marketing Specialist on the Digital Subscriptions team, you will play a key role in growing the digital circulation of The Washington Post.

Reporting to the Digital Subscriptions Marketing Manager, this role focuses on attracting new readers and converting them to paying subscribers through cross-channel marketing campaigns, leveraging email, SEM, social, and programmatic marketing. You'll partner with product, design, and data analytics to create, manage, and execute marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Digital Subscriptions Marketing Manager to create and maintain the marketing calendar
  • Write copy for email, social, and search ads
  • Work with newsroom and product teams to identify content for email drip campaigns
  • Perform A/B testing across all digital marketing channels and maintain A/B testing calendar
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Specialist to analyze performance of marketing campaigns and deliver insight to stakeholders


Job qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in direct-to-consumer digital marketing
  • Expert-level knowledge of email marketing and using an ESP like Sailthru, Marketo, Sendgrid, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience working within various ad platforms like: Facebook Business Manager, Twitter Ads Manager, LinkedIn, The Trade Desk, Doubleclick For Publishers, Media Math, etc.
  • Experience with marketing web products and mobile apps
  • Strong understanding of analytics software like Google Analytics or Omniture
  • Extremely detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Must be comfortable working in Microsoft Excel and be able to create pivot tables and graphs to analyze results and identify trends
