Large Washington, DC based International Labor Union representing over 200,000 members in the United States and Canada seeks experienced Chief Financial Officer. The organization has assets of approximately $195 million and revenues of $150 million. The CFO will report to the General Secretary-Treasurer and supervise Accounting and Finance personnel consisting of the Controller and other accountants and bookkeepers. In additional to the Washington, DC Headquarters location, a variety of the accounting functions are performed in Cleveland, Ohio and the CFO will be responsible for this as well. Responsibilities will include oversight of the general ledger, revenues and disbursements, accounting and reconciliation over cash, investments, and fixed assets. Also, proficiency in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and various government tax filings is critical.The qualified candidate should be a Certified Public Accountant and possess: A Bachelor of Arts/Sciences degree with a major in accounting A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably with labor union or other not-for-profit experience of comparable size Strong accounting, financial, and analytical skills Strong organization and supervisory skills Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Ability to communication effectively with the Officers and Board of the Organization
