As a Construction Inspector, you will be supporting our client, one of the world's largest engineering, construction, technical and management services firms. Job Responsibilities The Construction Inspector will join the project team on-site at multiple federal building job sites in Washington, DC. The Construction Inspector will be responsible for enforcing construction standards and code regulations while verifying the structural integrity of renovation projects, to include: Inspecting various facets of work on the construction site and performing continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and specifications Preparing correspondence and maintaining official construction site records Conducting meetings to resolve problems on construction projects and brief both clients and management personnel Overseeing workmanship and proper use of construction materials and installation methods Interpreting construction drawings and specifications for construction projects Specific qualifications for the Construction Inspector role include: 2 year degree in a technical discipline or construction related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience Minimum of 5 years inspection experience on commercial construction projects is required and previous work on federal projects is preferred Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications OSHA 10 hour certification required; 30 hour certification preferred USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Control Course Certified or other formal certifications from an independent organization is preferred Knowledge of PROLOG software is preferred Must be able to pass a standard Federal background investigation Benefits RealStreet offers a comprehensive benefit package which includes: Paid Time Off Paid Holidays 401(k) Retirement Plan with generous company match Medical Insurance Plan which includes prescription coverage Vision Insurance Dental Insurance Life Insurance & Long - Term Disability Build a better construction career with RealStreet!
