In this role you will interact on a regular basis with Internal Audit, Finance, and the Segment Controllers to ensure that the Enterprise Operations Business Process Management Team's (EOBPMT) governance framework is adequately designed and operating to effectively meet the diverse needs of these important corporate functions. You will work closely with the EOBPMT head of reporting who will provide you with balanced scorecards and metrics highlighting the EOBPMT's performance against documented objectives, and accordingly recommend and implement governance changes where appropriate. You will keep abreast of industry and regulatory changes that may impact EOBPM functions and services and prepare contingency plans and maturity roadmaps for senior management's consideration.

Responsibilities
  • Own and update the Enterprise Operations Business Process Management Department's governance plan
  • Manage governance integration with other corporate programs and departments (new initiatives, change management, etc.)
  • Recommend updates to corporate policies and standards at least annually
  • Establish a regular meeting cadence with Internal Audit, Finance and the Segment Controllers to ensure EOBMP and these functions are efficiently working towards the common goal of improving Freddie Mac's operational risk profile
  • Perform continuous improvement assessments using industry standard approaches (plan-do-check-act, fishbone diagrams, pareto diagrams, etc.) in order to drive quality across governance operations
  • Design, implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard EOBPM operations
  • Prepare regular reports detailing the potential impact of industry and regulatory changes that may impact EOBPM operations
  • Maintain a repository of the reports you prepare that is centrally accessible to EOBPM management


Qualifications

  • At least 5 years related experience
  • At least 2 years of team management experience
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher-degree
  • Superior proficiency in written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, concise terms both orally and in writing
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group - executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Experience writing or auditing corporate policies, procedures or standards
  • Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (brainstorming, benchmarking, control charts, pareto charts, balanced scorecards, etc.)
  • Successful track record working with management teams to implement governance structures or frameworks
  • Experience establishing, testing, or auditing internal controls a plus
  • Analytical thinking with ability to assemble, analyze, and draw conclusions from large volumes of seemingly disparate data
  • Experience interacting with Internal Audit teams or financial regulatory authorities a plus
  • Master's degree in operations research, business, or a mathematical field a plus
  • Quality management or lean sigma certification a plus
  • Highly proficient user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Financial Services and/or mortgage industry experience is preferred
