    Basic Requirement: A degree in accounting or in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing courses. (The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.)

    OR

    A qualifying combination of education and experience: 4 years of accounting experience or a combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge AND 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing courses (the 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law) or a certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor.

    Applicant must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 or equivalent level.

    Specialized experience is defined as: experience includes supervising teams of senior auditors in conducting complex oversight of contracting activities. Standard duties included integrating organizational missions into team
    strategies; informing assigned teams on milestones, program issues and deadlines; oversight of audit
    planning and execution, ensuring conformance with OIG and Audit; providing advice on work
    methods, practices, procedures, and assists teams in practical solutions; leading, monitoring status and
    progress of work adhering to deadlines and ensuring quality standards are met and determining
    corrective action recommendations.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
