A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. LAW ENFORCEMENT AGE REQUIREMENT: In accordance with Public Law 100-238, this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions; therefore, candidates must be appointed before reaching their 37th birthday unless they presently serve or have previously served in a Federal civilian law enforcement retirement-covered position or are a veteran preference eligible.
Qualifying experience for the GS-5 level includes one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: The experience requirements for the GS-5 level may be met by completion of a bachelor's degree or four years of undergraduate education in any field.Transcripts must be attached to application.
