Summary

The product team in AARP Innovation Labs is looking for a marketing intern with an entrepreneurial mindset and a get-it-done attitude. In this role, you have the opportunity to get hands-on experience developing and executing a range of integrated marketing programs for products and services the team is building and testing in the market.

As the marketing intern, you'll find that no two days are ever the same. You'll have the chance to work on multiple products in different industries and test out a variety of marketing channels from social media, email, advertising, events and more that are targeted to a wide breadth of audiences. Responsibilities

The Innovation Labs Marketing Intern will:
  • Work with product team leads to create go-to-market strategies such as brainstorming creative ways to get our products in front of targeted audiences and develop marketing campaigns to execute on these ideas
  • Assist in developing editorial calendar and creating content for social media and email campaigns
  • Assist in developing copy and creative to A/B test paid advertising to different audiences
  • Create marketing materials and update website content as needs arise
  • Assist with marketing project management


Requirements

Prospective intern must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post doctorate students.

AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.

In order to achieve success in this intern role, the following skills are important:

· Marketing interest and experience;

· Social media interest and experience;

· Microsoft Office proficiency;

· Team attitude;

· Initiative and ability to work independently.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate:

· Experience managing social media brand accounts

· Experience with Wordpress, social media management and email marketing platforms

· Experience in executing integrated marketing campaigns
