Requirements

The Project Manager of the Office of Career Strategy and Professional Development (CSPD), our medical center biomedical graduate career center, oversees career center operations, programs, and relationships with employer partners. S/he executes the CSPD program portfolio to support the career development needs of current students and alumni from 30 different biomedical graduate certificate and degree-granting programs, as well as multiple tracks within these programs, totaling 600+ biomedical graduate students. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Training and Development, the Project Manager has additional duties that include but are not limited to:
  • Builds key partnerships with employers and Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) alumni to foster interactions between our current students and professionals in order to expand employment placement pipelines.
  • Performs industry analysis to analyze hiring trends and oversees career center advising infrastructure and content to ensure that our career advising reflects the most current professional development trends.
  • Serves as a CSPD career advisor, with particular emphasis on industry exploration.
  • Oversees logistical execution and evaluation of all CSPD career center events and programs, and manages on campus engagement of employers with our students (on campus interviews, career fairs and information sessions).
  • Oversees the development, editing, and organization of all online resource content including our Career Service Management (CSM) Resource Library, jobs board, and career blog.
  • Provides critical support for a $1.5 million annual funding source from the federal government through our four current training grants at the Georgetown University Medical Center campus.
  • Generates and populates large volumes of predoctoral trainee data from prospective applicants, current trainees, and alumni for up to 15 years.
  • Supervises graduate assistants in the Analysis and Reporting Branch as part of their data management duties for training grant support.
  • Works closely with the Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Marketing as a member of the Hoya Scholarships review committee.
  • Works with the BGE central staff and the individual graduate program coordinators and directors and works closely with the Cawley Career Education Center, the Graduate Career Center (GSAS), Georgetown's Alumni Association and Alumni Career Services, and the Office of Global Services.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Experience in research methodology that culminates into a bachelor's thesis or master's degree
  • Strong attention to detail with a track record of success in partnering and developing successful long term client relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to run reports and analyze data in Excel
  • High level of proficiency in marketing/brand management and social media strategies
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, innovative, and willingness to try new things and learn new skills as needed
  • Ability to complete tasks on time and with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated with the ability to set goals and execute business development activities with confidence
  • Flexibility to perform in an ever-changing and rapidly growing work environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and excellent interpersonal, project management, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Strong data management, analytical, research, and organizational skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Comfortable with various technologies connected to relationship management and recruiting
  • Experience using a Career Service Management platform to track relationships
