    Minimum Qualification Requirements:
     
    To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.

    GS-09 

    A. To qualify for the GS-09 level, applicants must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.  Specialized Experience is experience: 1) monitoring, maintaining or updating financial data and records in an automated system; 2) utilizing a computer system or an application to create, edit, or adjust financial data; 3) assisting in the preparation of monthly reports; 4) reviewing financial data to be used in reconciling customer/vendor accounts and/or account receivables or account payables; 5) updating, revising, sorting, calculating, and manipulating data in spreadsheets;OR,

    B. Education: Completed a Master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related to the job.  (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED); OR,

    C. Combination of education and experience: Have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)

    GS-11 

    A. To qualify for the GS-11 level, applicants must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.  Specialized Experience is experience: 1) monitoring, maintaining or updating financial data and records in an automated system; 2) utilizing a computer system or an application to create, edit, or adjust financial data; 3) independently coordinating preparation of monthly reports 4) reviewing and analyzing financial data to be used in reconciling customer/vendor accounts and/or account receivables or account payables; 5) updating, revising, sorting, calculating, and manipulating data in spreadsheets; 6) experience communicating with and presenting information to team members and a wide variety of customers or stakeholders regarding accounting/financial issues; and 7) experience leading and guiding a team of accountants and/or financial specialists in performing financial management related assignments; OR,

    B. Education: Completed Ph.D. or equivalent degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a doctoral degree. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED); OR,

    C. Combination of education and experience: Have a combination of specialized experience and education that equals 100% of the requirement for the GS-11 level. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)

    A preliminary background check must be completed before a new employee can begin work with the U.S. Department of the Interior. The preliminary background check consists of a search of Office of Personnel Management and Department of Defense background investigation files and an FBI National Criminal History Fingerprint Check; it may take up to 3 weeks to complete. If selected for this position, you will be extended a tentative offer of employment pending a satisfactory background check. Current Federal employees or individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check; these will be handled on a case-by-case basis in coordination with the Bureau security office.
