This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision 1) Install, maintain or troubleshoot air conditioning and refrigeration systems; 2) Maintain refrigerant lines , air and water lines, controlling devices and associated equipment; 3) Make needed repairs by replacing, reworking, or refinishing worn or damaged parts and components; 4) Install the equipment, connect the power sources, perform operational and functional tests and make required adjustments to ensure proper operation of the system; 5) Use test equipment and measuring devices, utilizing various components such as air handler, fan coil units, water towers, evaporative condensers, air cooled condensers evaporators, fans, blowers; 6) Apply the requirements contained in technical manuals, blueprints and other documents in determining critical dimensions and key reference points; 7) Apply standard formulas, shop mathematics, trade theories and industry practices in calculating needed materials and problem solving and troubleshoot and repair various building automation control systems such as thermostats, humidstats, modulating valves, relays, pressure selectors, piston damper operators and associated devices.
