The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day human resource functions, particularly in the areas of HR records management, compliance tracking and reporting, unemployment administration, benefits/leave administration and supporting the HR Business Partner and acting as a main point of contact with addressing employee questions in these and other human resource areas. The HR Generalist works collaboratively with the HR Business Partner to improve the customer service level by assessing and refining processes and programs.

The HR Generalist also supports leadership and staff by providing training related to Work Day, Kronos and other applicable HR systems, policies and procedures. The HR Generalist coordinates new employee orientation and assists with the daily and administrative HR operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of HR practices and federal/state employment labor laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to critically think about problems and solutions
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment
  • Ability to work as a team on special projects
  • Skilled in using Windows Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the Internet and e-mail programs such as Outlook.
  • Experience using an HRIS, preferably Work Day
  • Ability to present effectively to small groups
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics
  • High level of administrative accuracy
  • Responsiveness to inquiries and concerns
  • Administratively organized


Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field
  • Two to four years of HR experience
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
