    This position is located in the Disaster Recovery and Special Issues Division in the Office of Block Grant Assistance within CPD. The Office of Block Grant Assistance is responsible for administering the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, including grant programs for entitlement communities, states, small cities, and insular areas.

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: 

    - Supporting a community development or economic development program for a federal, state, or local government or non-profit organization; AND
    - Designing training programs or conducting training on community or economic development topics.

    OR
    Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M.; in order to be qualifying, education must be in a related field.

    OR
    A combination of the following: more than 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree, if related, and experience, may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.

    Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    - Supporting a community development or economic development program for a federal, state, or local government or non-profit organization; AND
    - Assisting with training on community or economic development topics.

    OR
    Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D.; in order to be qualifying, education must be in a related field.

    OR
    A combination of the following: more than 1 full year of progressively higher level graduate education, if related, and experience, may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    - A one year probationary period may be required.
    - Must successfully complete a background investigation.
