Research Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

The George Mason University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, within the Volgenau School of Engineering, is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant Professor to conduct research in the areas of Applied Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will perform research in the area of Applied Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. A primary area of work will be on deploying state of the art machine learning solution for to enhance computer system security.

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate must have an earned PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or statistics by the start date of the position.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with strong background in the following areas: * Machine learning; * Big data computing; * Deep Learning; * Artificial Intelligence; * Computer System Security; * Convex Optimization; * Identify potential challenges of applying existing machine learning methods; * Improve existing data analysis methods or develop novel learning algorithms; * Perform evaluation of learning algorithms and; * It is preferred that applicants have PhD at time of application submission.
