We are looking for a Python Developer that will support integration tasks for weather satellites by ensuring that a functional algorithm is in place and ready for operations. Responsibilities:
- Provide programming and software engineering support for the next generation
- Design, code, test, and document interfaces of moderate to high complexity
- Work with government staff to coordinate science products, algorithm development, and science processing
- Support scientific processing, creation of delivered algorithm packages, and other research-to-operation efforts
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Position requires 2+ years of experience in Python
- Position requires 2+ years of knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Position requires at least a year of experience in C++ or Fortran 90
- Position requires experience with Perl or shell scripting
- Position requires a bachelors with formal course work in physics, mathematics, and computer programming
- Position requires US citizenship
- Position prefers experience with Jenkins, SQL, and CM tools
- Position prefers experience with scientific data formats
