    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Specialized Experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. 

    A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:  Experience classifying documents in accordance with a file structure to support document retention and retrieval; modifying Excel and Portable Document Format (PDF) electronic documents for print and retention; converting electronic documents into PDF files; conducting Internet searches for specified information; and providing analysis to support the goals of an organization.

    There are no positive educational requirement at this grade level.

    1. Knowledge and ability to prepare physical documents and electronic files for permanent retention.
    2. Ability to gather, assemble, extract and analyze information to be presented as a guide for the creation of complete records packages.
    3. Knowledge of complicated software and sophisticated hardware in order to create and improve electronic files to accurately present and record documentation related to claims against the government.
    4. Knowledge and mastery of the application of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of records management program effectiveness.
    5. Ability to independently conduct in-depth Internet and document searches to obtain and analyze publically available information on the nuclear, gas, solar, and wind electrical generation industry.
    6. Knowledge of the organization's mission sufficient to perform such task as assembling information to be used for reports or responses to inquiries and analyze documents for conformance to policy, and respond to inquiries.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    EDUCATION:

    Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level.

    Education must be obtained from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

    You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

    The Department of Energy uses an application tracking system to evaluate the responses you provide in the applicant assessment questionnaire to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications necessary for this position.
