  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be eligible for, receive, and retain a TOP SECRET/Single Scope Background Investigation (TS/SSBI) with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and selected Special Access Programs.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This is an emergency essential position that ensures the success of combat operations or supports essential combat systems after a mobilization, evacuation order, or other military crisis.
  • Incumbent may be required to deploy, on very short notice, to potentially high-threat, hostile OCONUS environments and to undergo specific training and immunization requirements as appropriate for OCONUS deployments.
  • Pre-appointment physical will be required. Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployed location.
  • Incumbent may be required to perform duties under austere and potentially hazardous conditions during exercise and real-world crisis deployments.
  • Position also requires travel, up to 30% of the time, CONUS and OCONUS as well as frequently extended duty with long hours under high pressure and generally high-rick job responsibilities.
  • Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter, in accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • This is an Inclement Weather position. Incumbent may be required to remain on duty during inclement weather.
  • Incumbent may need knowledge and proficiency of language needed to communicate and work in the area of operations.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete counter-intelligence scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
  • Must be able to comply with all federal agency security and medical requirements in order to obtain Staff-Like Access.
  • Following initial adjudication of access, individual must be able to maintain qualifications for required access in order to perform temporary duty with other government agencies as directed.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

    To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
    1. Experience using All-Source (HUMINT, IMINT, MASINT, and SIGINT) intelligence disciplines to provide technical and operational support. AND
    2. Experience using various intelligence data systems such as: Special Operations Command Research Analysis and Threat Evaluations System (SOCRATES) and Special Operations Intelligence System (SOIS). AND
    3. Experience with technical, tactical, and operational intelligence requirements, procedures, operational issues, and assessments.
    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13).

    Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
