Job Details
Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to work at our corporate headquarters located in Fairfax, VA. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a team of outstanding professionals. This individual will manage other purchasing personnel (directly and indirectly) and be the lead for indirect procurement activities across the enterprise, developing effective strategic sourcing plans, negotiating terms and pricing, and issuing purchase orders to ensure that both internal and external clients' needs are consistently met while ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and procedures. To be highly successful in this role, the individual will demonstrate a proven ability to coordinate and manage collaborative efforts across the organization at multiple levels and provide solid customer support and procurement expertise on all purchasing initiatives .
Responsibilities
- Leads a team for indirect procurement activities (IT and non-IT) across multiple disciplines in the corporate environment.
- Manages and negotiates corporate purchasing contracts.
- Prepare policies and guidelines in for purchasing issues and initiatives.
- Assist in audits, reviews and such special projects as required by senior management
- Develop and maintains strong positive relationships both internal and external.
- Assist in leading and developing other purchasing personnel.
- Monitor Dewberry's compliance with Business Ethics and Contract Compliance Program
- Support outreach activities within the Dewberry organization including conducting periodic training, and contributing to internal articles and notices.
- Support Dewberry's supplier diversity policy and principles through management of purchasing activities and conintual supplier outreach.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Graduation from a four year accredited college or university with a degree in Business Administration or equivalent
- 8 -10 years solid, professional experience in commercial and corporate/indirect procurement and administration
- Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, UCC and federal government contracting a plus
- Demonstrated extensive experience in negotiating and managing supplier relationships, expediting materials and establishing effective master corporate agreements for IT equipment and services, travel, office supplies, janitorial services, etc.
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Superior analytical and research skills
- Possess excellent business acumen
- Infrequent travel required.
