The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is seeking a well-qualified Venture Program Manager to join the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship.  Princeton Review ranks the University of Maryland #8 in Entrepreneurship and the Dingman Center is an internationally recognized Center for teaching and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs. The Center’s curricular and non-curricular programs leverage Smith School thought leadership, experiential learning and a broad network of practitioners to discover, equip, connect and celebrate student, faculty, alumni and regional entrepreneurs. The Dingman Center is comprised of a passionate and energetic team working every day to deliver on our mission to make entrepreneurs of all kinds more successful serving its mission to build a community of entrepreneurs. We strive for inclusion, proactively seeking to work with both traditional and social entrepreneurs, as well as female founders. We are looking for a hard hardworking, solution oriented professional to join our team as the Student & Venture Programs Manager. This Manager will have ownership over manage the strategy & logistics of curricular and non curricularnon -curricular student venture programs and create and implement project plans that efficiently leverage Center and partner resources to meet deadlines and achieve growth milestones. This person will report to the Managing Director and will work closely will all members of the Dingman Center staff, faculty partners and other collaborators. 

The Venture Program Manager will manage and support all student venture creation programs including Fearless Founders, Dingman Fridays, Dingman Jumpstart, Pitch Dingman Competition, Terp Startup Accelerator, and New Venture Practicum. To accomplish these responsibilities, the Manager will oversee a robust advising and mentor network. The Manager will track the progress of student entrepreneurs working with the Center to ensure venture acceleration. Beyond program management, the Manager will be responsible for increasing awareness of Dingman Center student venture programs throughout the entire campus while working closely with the Center's Events & Marketing Manager to market and successfully fill registration into programs.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant work experience, preferably in entrepreneurial environment; demonstrated track record of successful project and/or program management. Experience/interest in working in an academic environment.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: high energy, efficient worker who excels in a dynamic working environment; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.  Ability to delegate to student workers and colleagues, deadline driven with strict attention to detail; interact with a diverse community in a professional and respectful manner.  Ability to set priorities, organize and manage multiple planning tasks independently, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work under time constraints and adapt quickly to a changing environment.  Willingness to work some early mornings and evenings; passionate with interest in innovation and entrepreneurship; comfortable with public speaking and experience or interest working with digital platforms such as Salesforce.com, TrustedPeer, Emma, Google Products. 

The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.  The University also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 22 Days Annual Leave; 15 Days Sick Leave; 3 Days Personal Leave; 15 Paid Holidays; Tuition Remission; Health, Dental, Vision and Prescription coverage.
