  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the following certifications within six months of employment: (1) DoD Telecommunicator I and II and (2) DoD HAZMAT Materials Awareness Certification.

  • This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain the following certifications within six months of employment: (1) Emergency Fire Dispatcher, (2) Emergency Police Dispatcher, and (3) Basic Telecommunications.
  • This position requires the employee to wear a uniform.
  • This position requires the employee to work shift work. This entails working an alternate work schedule, which requires an uncommon tour of duty to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position has been determined to be Mission Essential. Employee is required to work regardless of weather conditions, Terrorist Force Protection Condition (TFPCON), or installation closure.
  • This position requires the employee to have and be able to maintain a valid state driver?s license.
  • The employee must obtain and maintain the following certifications within six months of employment: (1) American Heart Associations Healthcare Provider for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Emergency Medical Dispatch System.
  • The position requires the employee to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes answer emergency 911 calls and dispatch appropriate emergency personnel and equipment; perform intervention with distraught emergency callers during high risk situations until appropriate emergency response units arrive on the scene; monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV); and assess incoming information in fire, medical and other emergency situations and quickly determine the proper course of action. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06)

    Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

    • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

    • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
