Assistant Director, Admissions - Georgetown University Law Center

The Assistant Director of Admissions assists with all aspects of the J.D. and Graduate (LL.M. & S.J.D.) admissions processes. In addition to reviewing and rendering decisions on applications, this position also requires representing the law school at recruitment fairs, forums, and panels, counseling students regarding the admissions process, and developing and implementing strategies for recruiting and yielding prospective students. This position also works on diversity recruitment initiatives, and directs the production of certain print and online marketing materials. This position requires occasional evening and weekend event responsibilities and seasonal recruiting travel.
Working with the Manager and Graduate Manager of the Office of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions' duties include but are not limited to:
- Develops and implements strategies for recruiting and yielding prospective students.
- Works on diversity recruitment initiatives and directs the production of certain print and online marketing materials.
- Handles the technical components of the J.D. and Graduate admissions process, including online applications, database, and web issues.
- Conducts applicant interviews, assists with the scholarship review process, and assists the Dean of Admissions, Assistant Dean of Admissions and Director of Graduate Admissions.
Qualifications
- J.D. required
- Experience working in a very fast-paced environment and strong multitasking abilities are preferred
- Microsoft development skills including Office and Excel
- Experience with student information systems or similar databases is preferred, as is working knowledge of web development technologies and emerging social media
- An ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and to work with a wide range of people including applicants, alumni, faculty, staff and students is also required
