To qualify at the GS-11 Level: applicants must have (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: using databases, analyzing data with statistical software, and presenting data to internal audiences.

OR You can qualify based on education for the GS-11, if you have completed:

-Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, in a field that is directly related to the duties of the position, or

-3 full years of progressively, higher level, directly related graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that equals 100% of the requirements for the GS-11 level as outlined above.

To qualify at the GS-12 level: applicants must have (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: using data analysis tools (sql, python, R, etc) to build and execute data queries against databases with large volumes of data, extract and wrangle large datasets (over 1,000,000 records) and present results to internal audiences.

At the GS-13 level: Applicants must have (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level using data analysis tools (sql, python, R, etc) to build and execute data queries against databases with large volumes of data, extract and wrangle large datasets (over 1,000,000 records) and present results to internal audiences or external audiences, and a solid understanding of data science fundamentals.
