    You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

    In addition to meeting the required education requirements, to qualify for this Executive-level position, you must have substantial specialized experience, which is defined as:

    • Demonstrated experience in a senior or leadership position designing, directing and leading a program, function, or other work in which PhD researchers produced technical economic research about consumers, households, or financial markets or about the costs and benefits of contemplated policy or business decisions; AND
    • Demonstrated mastery one or more applied microeconomic fields, such as consumer and/or household finance, industrial organization, regulatory economics, public finance, economics of information, or a related field, sufficient to direct and lead PhD researchers in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex research programs and integration of the results of that research into decision making; AND
    • Demonstrated experience in conducting complex quantitative (econometric) and qualitative research meeting the highest standards of the economics profession, as demonstrated by publication in peer-reviewed journals or similar indicia of quality; AND
    • Demonstrated experience in communicating research findings and analyses and their implications for decision making orally and in writing to the highest levels of an agency or organization.

    Education Requirements:  Degree –
    A. Economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. A PhD in Economics is highly desirable.
    OR
    B. Combination of education and experience — courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A. above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.  Examples of qualifying experience include:
    a. Individual economic research assignments requiring planning, information assembly, analysis and evaluation, conclusions and report preparation;
    b. Supervisory or project coordination assignments involving a staff of professional economists, and requiring the evaluation and interpretation of economic information; or
    c. Teaching assignments in a college or university that included both class instruction in economics subjects and one or more of the following (1) personal research that produced evidence of results, (2) direction of graduate theses in economics, or (3) service as a consultant or advisor on technical economics problems

    The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
    - A one year probationary period may be required. 
    - A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. 
    - Must successfully complete a background investigation.
    - Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
    - If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
    - Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.  Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
    - Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.

    • Managing Quality Results – Provides work that is responsive to stakeholder or mission requirements and collects and acts on feedback/data to improve quality, efficiency, or responsiveness. Anticipates stakeholder needs and proactively addresses them to resolve concerns and balances stakeholder requests against capacity.
