Program Assistant, Fulbright

The Program Assistant is a key member of the 19-person unit charged with managing the Fulbright Foreign Student Program and other programs. This is an entry-level position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent AMIDEAST and the Fulbright program to visiting university representatives and at conferences or seminars
- Assist with the university placement and monitoring of Fulbright Foreign Student candidates and grantees
- Correspond with Fulbright students, AMIDEAST field staff, U.S. colleges & universities and Department of State representatives
- Contribute to department’s social media efforts as requested
- Assist with interviewing prospective Program Assistants and interns
- Assist with the supervision and training of Fulbright program interns
- Serve as resource for staff, maintain the student database documentation guide, and continuously update documentation per department needs
- Assist in compiling various Fulbright reports and student files
- Assist in compiling data required for AMIDEAST’s J designation student program annual report
- Assist in conducting student and participant orientation sessions
- Arrange and track student incoming and outgoing travel logistics
- Process and reconcile student payment requests and coordinate with unit finance officers
- Maintain students’ health benefits coverage enrollment and respond to related student inquiries
- Other clerical and administrative duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree and minimum one year relevant experience in an office environment
• Strong computer skills (candidate should list experience with various software programs including Microsoft Office), and demonstrated ability to learn new systems and software
• Flexibility and ability to shift priorities to meet tight deadlines
Preferred:
• Previous experience working with and supporting students, specifically international students
• Previous experience working with stakeholders from the Middle East and North Africa
• Strong and demonstrated interest in international education and/or education management projects
