Energy Engineer

Meridian Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented energy engineer for new construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a mechanical engineering or related background and an understanding of the commercial building design and construction process. The energy engineer position will primarily involve conducting energy modeling along with site work supporting the company's HVAC commissioning services.  

This position will be located in Meridian Consulting's office in Silver Spring, MD with some telecommuting potential.

Qualifications:

• ​Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent work experience

• Experience building energy models for commercial buildings

• Experience with site inspections and HVAC equipment testing or operations

• Technical knowledge and experience with HVAC systems and commercial building design or operations

• Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings

• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent report writing skills

• Strong work ethic, sense of personal responsibility and commitment to delivering high quality work

• Proficient with eQUEST or other energy modeling software preferred, along with MS Excel and MS Word

​Additional optional skills and qualifications:

• Commissioning experience

• PE, CEM, or CxA certification

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
