Digital Marketing Coordinator Job Summary/Company:
Are you a Digital Marketing Coordinator that thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment? If so, Sparks Group and growing non-profit in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Digital Marketing Coordinator for a temporary or contract to hire opportunity. The Digital Marketing Coordinator will oversee and manage online promotional strategies, analyze and report on electronic efforts, write dynamic and SEO optimized copy for the web, and recommend improvements based on analysis of marketing, sales, and competitive data. Keys to the success of this position are: organization, flexibility, diplomacy, and the ability to work both independently and concurrently with several internal clients and external vendors.

Digital Marketing Coordinator Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with design and production teams to facilitate production of promotional materials, from conception to publication.
  • Develop and execute digital and other marketing strategies to effectively communicate the benefits of products and services to targeted audience segments, to include:
    • Writing dynamic copy for promotional e-mails, brochures, web content, advertisements (print and digital), and other collateral. The ability to develop creative clear, persuasive, and original copy is essential.
    • Working with subject matter experts to gather pivotal information for clear and relevant marketing copy. This includes speaking directly with members, Chairs, authors, etc. to gather the appropriate information.
    • Reviewing and editing existing promotional materials for marketing effectiveness, cross-selling strategies, particularly focusing on content for the web.
    • Seeking ways to improve responses to messages and leverage integrated communications channels to maximize effectiveness.
    • Tracking and reporting on promotional costs, sales, and marketing effectiveness of promotional campaigns.
  • Keep up to date on new marketing trends and best practices, particularly with regard to digital marketing (e.g., Google Analytics, SEO, Marketing Automation, Social Media) to share with Marketing team in an effort to improve promotions and processes, where applicable.
  • Manage schedules for promotional efforts for projects. Maintain organizational promotions schedule to track traffic volume and reduce the likelihood of overlapping marketing and communications to members and other constituents.
  • Participate in and execute promotions of products and services in coordination with the rest of the marketing team.
  • Develop and execute strategies to effectively communicate the benefits of products and services to specific targeted audience segments.
  • Work with outside designers, print shops, and mail houses to develop and mail promotional materials (requests quotes, manage budget, develop production schedule).
  • Serve as the Marketing team lead in collecting metrics/analytics data, analyzing data, and using results to inform/improve future marketing campaigns/efforts. Also includes working with inhouse Web Developer to implement most up-to-date marketing tracking tools, as necessary.
  • Oversee social media efforts, working with the Head of Marketing and other departments and executing this strategy through the use of such social media platforms such as Twitter and LinkedIn.
    • Oversee strategy, day-to-day execution, and analytics for social media efforts
    • Oversee brand voice in social media outlets to ensure consistency with overall messaging
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure social media is accurately representing overall organizational brand goals and strategic priorities
  • Proactively seek out new and cost-effective ways to market products and services.
  • Work with web team to improve website appearance, usability, and functionality; work with Marketing team and other departments to ensure web content is relevant and up to date.
  • Implement and provide oversight of systems and processes to enable, support, track, and report on promotional activities, results, learning, and recommendations for marketing similar products and services in the future. Includes reporting on progress of existing campaigns, particularly digital, and continually optimizing processes and tactics based on campaign results.
  • Create and disseminate emails to appropriately identified target audiences through email platform.
  • Lead or support special projects as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned or changed based on the need of the department.
Digital Marketing Coordinator Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • BS/BA degree in Marketing, Communications or a related area from a four-year college or university is required.
  • Experience in SEO, PPC, digital advertising, email marketing.
  • Proficiency in web analytics (Google Analytics) is required; a working knowledge and understanding of digital marketing analytics tools is preferred; understanding of Google Tag Manger is a plus.
  • Demonstrate exceptional promotional copywriting and editing skills and attention to detail.
  • Show an ability to communicate creative concepts and strategies to a diverse range of product managers with varying knowledge of marketing concepts and execution.
  • Demonstrate expertise and results in creating and evaluating print and electronic marketing communications efforts in a fast, high-volume atmosphere.
  • Understand how to analyze and interpret marketing and sales data, particularly with regard to digital efforts.
  • Create, test, and evaluate new approaches for promoting products, services, and the Association.
  • Candidates must have a thorough understanding of and experience with paid and organic campaigns on social platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Candidates must have strong fundamental Internet marketing skills across multiple channels, including an understanding of digital outreach, marketing strategy, and tactics.
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills are required.
