Freddie Mac has an exciting opportunity for an IT Generalist II (DevOps, Microservices, Angular, Docker, AWS) to work in the ETS - Database Engineering & Services Team department of the Information Technology division. We are seeking a motivated individual to support design and development activities for software applications on a Python, Unix Scripting, DevOps, Docker, Database Platform. As a member of the IT Engineering team, the individual will work on the solution delivery of assigned design and development tasks. The individual would champion technology and tools changes/improvements that improve delivery processes. This is an opportunity to act as a role model and technical mentor to junior developers, and to work collaboratively with other open-minded, technology savvy, and dedicated team members.

Responsibilities include:
  • Perform Python development tasks to deliver new and upgraded web-based solutions to AWS Cloud environment.
  • Communicate to internal clients and partners aspects of the implementation at the technical and/or functional level appropriate for the situation.
  • Apply software development principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Understand Business Requirements; participate in System Requirement Analysis; design Applications based on System Requirements and Architecture, prototyping if necessary, developing, unit testing and deployment.
  • Comply with the department application standards and general industry-based practices.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of department application development/delivery standards, tools and processes.
  • Evangelize new technologies and tools, promote top code quality by leading design and code reviews, and solve challenging issues related to performance tuning and scalability.
  • Train new and/or junior members of the team.


Qualifications

  • Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to analyze system functionality with customer and resolve production issues
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS Cloud
  • Experience with Databases (PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL)
  • Thorough understanding of relational databases, XML, web services and preferably on a WebLogic platform
  • Experience applying Object Oriented Analysis and Design principles
  • Understanding of design patterns and ability to use them in real world situations
  • Hands-on experience with Build and Deployment tools
  • Good knowledge of database concepts with working knowledge on SQL and Stored Procedures
  • Strive to constantly improve the application development processes and tools
  • Good understanding in Open source APIs like Spring, Hibernate and Persistence Framework etc.
  • Hands on experience in Java/J2EE design patterns and UML design tools
  • Demonstrated ability to report on project level plans to Technical and Business partners (from staff level to Executives)

  • Experience with RESTful Services, Agile methodology, DevOps, CICD, Cloud technologies and migration of applications to the cloud.
  • 4 years developing applications using current technologies( Docker, RedHat OpenShift, Mongo DB, Jenkins & AWS)
  • Python Certifications are desired
  • Experience in using Team Forge GIT as source code repository
  • Experience in Agile based Project development
  • Innovative problem solver who likes to take on challenges with calculated risk to provide solutions
  • Must have the ability to multi task with strong intellectual and interpersonal skills
  • Additionally, must have the ability to collaborate across various teams and must have strong communication skills

  • Experience to work in Autosys, SQL, Shell Script, TAM, Oracle Entitlement Server (OES), Jenkins Pipeline, Docker and Cloud
  • Experience with Database SQL IDE: SQL Developer, Rapid SQL Database Query design and development on relational database platform
  • Good communication and ability to convey technology solutions to business clients
  • Proactive in nature with customer satisfaction as primary goal
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
  • Experience in using GIT, Team Forge, ServiceNow, Sonar Cube, Jenkins and Artifactory
  • Familiarity with Mortgage Industry or direct Freddie Mac Experience is an added plus
  • Experience with Directories (LDAP, AD)
