Recent Graduates Eligibility: Recent graduates must be appointed within two years of being awarded a bachelor's or graduate degree from a qualifying educational institution as defined in 20 U.S.C. § 1001. The two-year period of eligibility will be extended to four years for veterans who have completed a period of obligated uniformed service of more than four years, and were awarded a degree by an institution of higher education not more than four years before the date of appointment. The four year uniformed service requirement need not be continuous. If the veteran did not complete more than four years of uniformed service, the two-year eligibility period applies.

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience, one year of which was equivalent to the (GS-04) grade level or pay band (NH-1) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate the ability to Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; AND Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experience of a general clerical nature (typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other nonspecialized tasks) is not creditable. Trades or crafts experience appropriate to the position to be filled may be creditable for some positions.

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Recent graduates serve a trial period for the duration of their service appointment. If selected, you will be required to sign a program participant agreement.
Employees will be placed into a 24-month training and developmental program to receive on-the-job training through a structured set of learning experiences described in the participant's developmental plan. The objective is to develop the competencies that are necessary for the performance of responsibilities that are commensurate with a full performance level of the targeted series to which was initially applied for.
Employees will spend at least one-half of the 24-month program actively engaged in valuable training under the guidance and direction of seasoned professionals. Training will encompass a series of agency specific annual training requirements and depending on the series to which hired, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act certification. Other series related training may be assigned by the supervisor via an individual development plan. To build upon this experience, other developmental assignments will be provided to give individuals the opportunity to broaden their generalist experience. Assignments will be selected to provide the participant with needed skills to perform work at full promotion level for the assigned series.
