Perspecta is an AA/EEO Employer - Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories Responsibilities Antenna Systems Engineer, General Job Summary: The program has an opening for an Antenna Engineer to provide SETA support to a program office. This position requires both insight and experience in a wide range of RF systems engineering tasks, including antenna and collection system design, upgrade planning, design and recent experience directly supporting COTRs in a SETA role. An essential requirement for this individual is to use their experience to identify new system configurations from existing RF equipment, identify performance and capability gaps, and assist government staff in key acquisition, development oversight and planning tasks. This work will feed directly into creating road maps for future government investment and development. This individual will assist the government customer with end-to-end planning, implementation, deployment, operation and enhancement of complex systems. Ability to effectively communicate are essential qualifications. Familiarity with specialized modulation and state of the art communication processing techniques is also needed. Other systems engineering tasks include requirements definition, performance analysis, document preparation and review, and status tracking. This person may also assist in the coordination of deployment and system activation activities, including integration support, and facilitate survey and sustained operations. Position requires nominally 25% domestic travel with a potential for OCONUS travel. The specific position responsibilities will include: - Identify and assess RF technical risks and provide recommendations for mitigations - Identify and assess technical risks and provide recommendations for mitigations - Provide independent assessments of planned updates to active systems - Develop test strategies for the evaluation of systems - Attend CIR,PDR,CDR, monthly, and other reviews, document results of these meetings, solicit and integrate comments from the Sponsor, and provide recommendations to the Government Project Manager - Assist in the review and assessment of contractor deliverables Qualifications Requires 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 13 years with MS/MA or 7 to 9 years with Ph.D. Clearance Top Secret/SCI w/Poly needed to start Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an engineering, science, or other related technical discipline Requires 5+ years of experience in the design, development, and testing of electronic systems/sensors to be deployed and used in the field. Systems engineering and technical experience of RF systems - Knowledge /Experience analyzing and assessing RF link performance - Knowledge /Experience related to antenna/feed design, modeling and testing - Experience in the analysis, design, and testing of reflector antennas, phased arrays, and ultra wideband antennas - Understand how customer needs drive RD system requirements (ie sensitivity, dynamic range, etc.) and be able to use those to derive RF system component level requirements (ie antenna gain, noise figure, etc) - Experience in far-field and near-field antenna testing - Create and maintain line of sight (LOS) and beyond line of sight (BLOS) link budgets Excellent Problem solving ability / communication skills / and ability to work within a team structure Desired Qualifications: -Master's degree or higher in an engineering, science, or other related technical discipline. -10+ years of experience in the design, development, and testing of electronic systems/sensors to be deployed and used in the field. -Experience using computational electromagnetic tools to analyze antenna performance -Experience with LINUX and scripting languages such as MATLAB and Python Options
