JOB DESCRIPTION Creation of modifications to an existing application, creating a gap analysis, future architecture visions and a roadmap System design of data interfaces between remote systems, the high-level design of software applications, and the solution design of COTS product integrations in the state-of-the-art federal government personnel security product. Working in an Agile / Scrum environment Identify strategic data requirements of an enterprise Determine how an enterprise's data will be stored and utilized Assess the enterprise's internal and external data and design blueprint to manage the available data Create inventory of enterprise's data and store data in easily accessible format Design and develop complex database management systems and separate public data from private ones Create back up plan to cater for the data needs of the company in times of emergency or cyber attack Collaborate with enterprise's management needs to create data models in line with the organizations need Research to collate new data and update the company's database from time to time Meld existing data architecture with new ones as technology emerges Learn new techniques for data modeling and management Ensure the protection of data from unauthorized persons. Involved in the analysis of unstructured and semi-structured cyber security and related data. Exercises creativity in applying non-traditional approaches to large-scale analysis of unstructured data in support of high-value use cases. Has the ability to make discoveries in the world of big data. Requires strong technical and computational skills - engineering, physics, mathematics. Has the ability to utilize advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict and make discoveries in complex data and deliver recommendations for business and analytic decisions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage business data architecture and identify strategic data requirements Develop Database, data dictionary; conceptual, logical and physical models Provide guidance to other engineers and database administrators Analyze and assess various database warehouses Document task and data transformation; compare metric calculations from databases Perform a gap analysis on the business processes and methodologies Design, develop, manage, and determine how an enterprise's data will be stored and utilized, ensuring protection from unauthorized persons. Create necessary back up plans Research and document new data management models and techniques QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Strong background in system development and data management. Strong understanding of software project management approaches and requirements, system development lifecycle, and design and test techniques to perform their duties effectively. Proven knowledge of database design and modeling is also mandatory for this position. Well versed in different data modeling techniques, and database design and management. Experience in performance tuning is a plus. Ability to develop descriptive, predictive, or prescriptive analytics to make sense of structured and unstructured data Knowledge of cloud/virtual content architectures, data standards & workflows, and best practices Experience in system activity and data modeling, information flow / transactional process analysis, business methods, and performance measurements techniques Strong oral, writer, and presentation skills Prior experience with ERWin or other data modeling tools (desired) Familiarity with data analytic and presentation tools such as Tableau, DoDAF diagrams EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION / KNOWLEDGE Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in an engineering or computer field; 8 years of related experience. Oracle SAFe or Agile certification is a plus Familiarity with Department of Defense personnel security issues is a plus Familiarity with SAFe and agile is a plus
