Receptionist and Office Assistant - Office of the Dean:

The George Mason University Office of the Dean, within the Volgenau School of Engineering, is looking for a part-time hourly (25 hours per week) non-student wage Receptionist and Office Assistant. Responsibilities: * Act as primary greeter for the Office of the Dean; * Manage conference room reservations and key distribution; * Maintain internal office documents, including internal phone lists; * Oversee setup and breakdown of the Lloyd Griffiths Conference Room; * Receive and distribute office mail; * Act as point of contact for weekly Faculty & Staff Coffees, send out reminder emails, setup conference room as needed; * Maintain the office's parking passes and order additional as needed; * Open and close kitchen and copy room, including but not limited to stocking copier and kitchen; * Monitor breakroom supplies and place orders as needed; * Monitor office supplies and provide list of needed items; * General office support activities, including but not limited to filing and answering phones.

Required Qualifications: * An associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and demonstrated relevant professional experience; and * Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, electronic calendaring, and e-mail

Preferred Qualifications and Skills: * Exceptional customer service skills; * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; * Experience in administrative services; * Experience with university applications/systems such as eVA and the Travel Request System; * Experience working in higher education or with the state of Virginia; * Ability to work with senior management personnel; * Ability to work independently and to complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines; * Ability to work effectively as a key member of an administrative support team in a dynamic, fast-paced, demanding environment with frequently changing priorities; and * Ability to handle matters with discretion and maintain absolute confidentiality in a highly visible office.
