Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach two sections of photography to students at varying levels of experience

  • Prepare inspiring lessons in both darkroom and digital methods

  • Manage lab and workspaces efficiently according to best practices

  • Keep attendance records; manage student behavior in classroom and maintain a positive

    environment for all students

  • Observe and evaluate students’ progress

  • Participate in faculty meetings and teacher training workshops as appropriate

Qualifications

  •  BA or BFA required, MA or MFA desirable

  • A minimum of two years’ experience teaching photography, preferably at the Upper School level

  • Strong skills and experience in both digital and darkroom photography

  • Strong communication skills in speech and writing

  • Ability to understand students’ educational and emotional needs

  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, support staff,

    parents and members of the community

  • Ability to recognize and respond to individual and cultural differences in students and utilize

    methods that result in deeper understanding and higher achievement

  • Enthusiasm and joy for working with students
