Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Teach two sections of photography to students at varying levels of experience
-
Prepare inspiring lessons in both darkroom and digital methods
-
Manage lab and workspaces efficiently according to best practices
-
Keep attendance records; manage student behavior in classroom and maintain a positive
environment for all students
-
Observe and evaluate students’ progress
-
Participate in faculty meetings and teacher training workshops as appropriate
Qualifications
-
BA or BFA required, MA or MFA desirable
-
A minimum of two years’ experience teaching photography, preferably at the Upper School level
-
Strong skills and experience in both digital and darkroom photography
-
Strong communication skills in speech and writing
-
Ability to understand students’ educational and emotional needs
-
Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, support staff,
parents and members of the community
-
Ability to recognize and respond to individual and cultural differences in students and utilize
methods that result in deeper understanding and higher achievement
-
Enthusiasm and joy for working with students
