Job Summary:

Westat is seeking an entry level front end web developer with strong web design and user interface development skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the development and operations of java/.Net based applications and components as part of a large enterprise system with domestic and international users.
• Develop code using industry best practices for maintenance of external/internal web site(s), the web-based system(s).
• Test web applications in multi-platform, cross-browser development.
• Produce front-end system requirement documents.
• Build UI according to UI/UX designs and troubleshoot/resolve defects in UI components
• Optimize front end for maximum speed and scalability
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team on a variety of projects and extend functionality within current web-based applications.
• Participate in requirements, design, and code reviews.

Basic Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field and 1 year of experience is required.
• Experience with React.js is required.

Candidate should also have experience with these client-side SPA (Single Page Application) libraries like HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, node JS, jQuery, XML and server-side scripting languages interacting with backend relational databases through REST APIs. Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jasmine/Karma along with knowledge of Java, .Net technology or C# are a plus. Candidate should have excellent communications and writing skills
