In cooperation with Division of Student Affairs (DSA) staff, the Associate Director will create and implement comprehensive short-term and long-term plans to achieve DSA grant revenue goals. The Associate Director will identify and pursue new sources of grant funding while building upon the support of current grantors. As a secondary focus, this development professional will also manage a portfolio of individual donors and will work to close major gifts in support of Division of Student Affairs priorities.

Grants (primary focus)
Meeting strict timetables of potential funders, the Associate Director will work closely with University Relations and Student Affairs staff to access required research, funding guidelines and coordinate all DSA grant applications. The Associate Director will manage public, corporate and private foundation grants inquiries, applications and proposals and track the status of all DSA grants initiatives. On a regular basis, he/she will take the lead role in writing proposals and completing grant applications. In addition, he/she will partner with DSA units to ensure the complete and timely fulfillment of ongoing obligations to funders in the form of programmatic and financial reports and other written and verbal communications.

Major Gifts (secondary focus)
The Associate Director will lead and/or support the direct solicitation of prospects for major gifts in support of priorities across the Division of Student Affairs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The chosen candidate must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building successful grantor and donor relationships. Candidates must have the ability to work collaboratively and strategically with other fundraising professionals, volunteers, and campus leaders. Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of strongly related professional experience required.
