Database Administrator, Mid

Key Role:

Perform database and system administration and application support for tools and custom-developed software for a system that provides mission critical communication across federal agencies. Maintain responsibility for the installation, configuration, and administration of SQL Server on Windows environments and support migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Support the team through development and maintenance of data object universes, dashboards, and reports and coordinate and support application deployments in multiple environments, including development, testing, and production. Provide support for routine application and database maintenance, including the evaluation of technology or version upgrades, resolution of production or help desk issues, application of patches, system security evaluation, development of complex SQL queries and procedures, and database tuning and optimization.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with installing and supporting SQL Server 2012, 2014, or 2016

-2+ years of experience with administering SQL Server in an enterprise

-Experience with server tuning and optimization

-Ability to write and tune dynamic SQL and complex stored procedures

-Top Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with SQL Server Always On, database mirroring, replication, or clustered environments

-Experience with backup and recovery strategy planning and implementation

-Experience with hardening databases per DoD STIGs

-Knowledge of database security in a SQL server environment

-Knowledge of database hosting and configuration in Microsoft Azure or AWS

-MCSA: SQL Server Certification
