The candidate will work on sophisticated patent prosecution and technical analysis work relating to computer hardware, computer software, telecommunications, electrical, electromechanical, and automotive technologies. Will work on drafting, filing, and prosecuting US patent applications, managing and coordinating international patent application strategies, preparing patentability, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions, and overall intellectual property counseling. Must be admitted to a US State Bar and be in good standing and/or be registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office. Admission to the Virginia Bar is expected. Should possess an undergraduate degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar background. Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications is also required. Experience in drafting patent ability, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions, as well as general client counseling in Intellectual Property issues, is considered a plus. Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications is essential. Industry, court clerk, and/or PTO examiner experience is desirable. The candidate must have a JD degree. Excellent communication (written and oral) and judgment are essential. Must be a self-starter, have the ability to prioritize workload; display good judgment and work well under pressure.
