Northrop Grumman has multiple opportunities for a Cyber Software / Human Factors Engineer to join our dynamic team in Annapolis Junction. Description of Work: * Work includes system design, development, delivery, and maintenance in a number of mission-critical domains, including analytics development, information sharing, data transformation and dataflow, malware analysis, and knowledge management. * The Usability/Human Factors Engineer uses a holistic, multidisciplinary approach for the design of user interfaces for digital products, defining their form behavior, and content. The Engineer must integrate interactions design, industrial design, information architecture, information design, visual interface design, user assistance design, and user-center design, thus ensuring coherence and consistency across all design dimensions. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required; Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree * Nine (9) years' experience in Usability and Human Factors Engineering * Five (5) years' experience in: + Graphical User Interface requirements analysis + Human-computer function/job/task analysis + Scenario-based Engineering process + Graphical User Interface design and layout + Web Page design and development to include the use of wire frames and cascading style sheets + Rapid prototyping of user interfaces + User interface usability evaluations + User training + Human-computer performance analysis * Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Preferred Qualifications: * Twelve (12) years' experience in Usability and Human Factors Engineering * Conduct usability testing and work closely with product designers and process engineers developing applications. * Design and develop user surveys to obtain end-user feedback * During the usability and software engineering cycle phases (analysis, design, implementation, and deployment) work closely with users (analysts) to research and document user profiles, analysis tasks, workflows, and user scenarios; in order to create user interface design from specifications provided * Responsible for performance and technical management of usability engineering teams * Lead user/human-centered design for software applications and web sites including contextual inquiry, critical task analysis, information architecture, interaction design, usability testing, and application of human-computer interaction (HCI) research Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
