The role will drive the FP & A teams to elevate existing processes and tools in order to meet the needs of future co-op growth. This role creates cross-functional partnerships and fosters fact-and financial-based decision making for the co-op ensuring that we have consistency and accuracy across FP & A. It has a broad impact across the organization, through leadership and accountability for the annual budgeting and strategic planning process, ongoing accurate financial forecasting, and financial support for ongoing financial analysis of strategic business initiatives. This role is the day-to-day engagement point for the Senior Leadership of the divisions and the core management team of FP & A. In addition, this role will be responsible for leading initiatives around enterprise-wide consolidations, reporting, key performance metrics, and profitability analysis to drive better alignment of financials for senior leadership and the Board of Directors. This position includes advanced enterprise-wide special projects, duties and initiatives as assigned. Models and acts in accordance with REI's guiding values and mission. Leading the Way (team leadership, coaching and development responsibilities for this 'manager of staff') * Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results * Supports the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices * Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results * Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements * Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions * Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results * Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action Your Planning & Navigating Requirements (the plans the job is responsible for creating and executing, and how the job ensures they are implemented) * Provide broad cross-divisional leadership to the individual FP & A teams to ensure alignment, accuracy, and rigorous financial management * Develop and collaborate with REI Senior Leaders and Leadership Forum to create actionable divisional strategic plans * Acts as the financial thought-leader and initiative driver for divisions; divisional financial voice to senior executives * Develop and implement new investment and profitability frameworks and metrics * Coordinate regular updates to financial forecasts with Senior Leaders * Lead, communicate, implement and execute the corporate budget cycle to support REI's strategic initiatives * Support Board and Audit and Finance Committee as assigned * Oversee the monthly operational review and communicate findings to senior management * Accountable for monthly reporting * Accountable for monthly working plan accuracy * Provides leadership and direction through Managers and Analysts * Accountable for the performance and results of a strategic financial discipline * Adapts and executes functional or departmental business plans and contributes to the development of functional or departmental strategies Bring your passion and expertise * 10-15 years of financial planning and analysis experience in Accounting/Finance * Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or similar MBA or similar certification * Proven success executing a corporate-wide budget cycle * Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and objectively solve problems using sound judgment * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with Board of Directors and senior management professionals * Ability to effectively handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines under pressure * Demonstrated effective leadership, supervising and interpersonal skills to instruct or assign work to others, motivate and coach, and evaluate work performance Why you'll love it here We're a passionate community of people who believe in one simple truth: an outdoor life is a life well-lived.
