Basic requirement:

You must possess IT-related experience that demonstrates each of the four competencies necessary to perform Information Technology (IT) work defined as: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendation.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above you must also meet specialized experience below.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job The Definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Specialized experience is defined as: Developing Information Assurance (IA) architectural schematics for the protection of critical enterprise level systems and networks; Reviewing network security management reports for submission to higher echelons, including NETCOM, HQDA and DISA; Validating ADP software/hardware services acquisition process from the development of Statements of Work through acquisition documentation preparation and submission for procurement action; Ensuring systems availability, integrity and efficiency by applying information security and information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of IT support services.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

• Communications
• Information Management
• Information Systems/Network Security
• Requirements Analysis
• System Administration

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

• Temporary promotions may be terminated earlier or extended based on management discretion. It may also be made permanent without further competition. If the temporary promotion is not made permanent the employee will be return to their former position of record.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
