Basic Requirements:

Degree: museum work; or in an applicable subject-matter field.

Four years of experience that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study as shown above.

In addition to the basic requirements you must meet the specialized experience requirements:

Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience are: providing direction over extensive museum collections and carrying out responsibilities in the four museum functions: collections, exhibits, research, and education. Experience may include collections management (in the areas of archeology, ethnology, history, archives, biology, geology, and paleontology), registration and cataloging; research, preservation, and restoration; or conservation of collections of museum material, or other experience related to this position.
OR
Education: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Combination Education/Experience: An equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
