  • Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.
    Minimum Qualifications For GS-0132-09:
    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service that included experience such as:
    - Applying a range of all-source intelligence analysis techniques;
    - Using charts, graphs, or table to gather information to conduct fact finding activities for cyber threats;
    - Assisting with monitoring all-source intelligence information to identify potential cyber threats;
    OR Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in a related field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of this position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) to support your claim.

    OR a combination of graduate education and specialized experience as described above that, when combined; equal 100% of the qualification requirement. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first 18 semester hours may be used in this calculation. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) to support your claim.

    Minimum Qualifications For GS-0132-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service that included experience such as:
    - Applying new theories and standards to solve irregular problems in cyber defense;
    - Assisting with the intelligence cycle to help produce innovative approaches in evaluating cyber threat information;
    - Drafting all-source finished intelligence assessments products for review;
    OR Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, e.g., LL.M., at an accredited college or university in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work OR I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) to support your claim.

    OR a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in a related field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of this position semester hours may be used in this calculation.

    Minimum Qualifications For GS-0132-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service that included experience such as:
    • Identifying reliable indicators of future cyber threat activity;
    • Developing estimative judgments from the information gained by analyzing cyber information
    • Briefing cyber intelligence analysis to provide customers with a critical understanding of the cyber threat;
    Minimum Qualifications For GS-0132-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service that included experience such as: - Completing all-source finished intelligence assessments products in line with tradecraft standards;
    - Working with the intelligence cycle to produce actionable judgement of cyber threats;
    - Preparing and conducting all-source cyber intelligence briefings to provide senior customers with a critical understanding of the cyber threats;
    - Initiating innovative solutions to improve judgements of adversary intent and capability;
    Note: Current Federal employees on a developmental career ladder position under the same series as this announcement: If selected and you advance to the next higher grade level prior to establishment of an entry on duty date, you may be hired at the higher grade level and continue the career ladder progression identified in this announcement.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Promotion Potential: This position may be filled at the GS-09/11/12 or 13 level. If selection is made at the GS-9/11 or 12 level, promotion to the GS-13 level may occur without further competition.

    Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires each and every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background investigation for Top Secret/SCI clearance as a condition of placement in this Special Sensitive position. This review includes financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs.
