Specializing in A/E design and consulting services for federal and local government projects, Alphatec PC has 50 years experience in administrative buildings to highly specialized and prototypical facilities including biomedical, R&D laboratories, data centers, and aircraft hangars.

You will be a lead member of the Alphatec Architecture team. You will work on highly coordinated, environmentally responsible, facilities and will work with an integrated A/MEP/FP design team to achieve your projects goals. Alphatec Architects develop building systems that solve new performance mandates for various government agencies, solve modernization challenges and help facilitate life cycle value for the end user.

Job Description

  • Develop design and planning solutions for facilities with an emphasis on Construction Documents and coordination of information within a multi-disciplined integrated design team in all project phases
  • Must be able to exhibit technical leadership, support team members and verify that all work is completed as planned, scheduled and within budget
  • Prepare presentation materials, calculations, specifications, design analysis, and completion of projects
  • Contribute to Alphatec’s sustainable design initiatives by using a variety of applications to perform analysis and calculations for USGBC and GBI submissions
  • Provide strong technical detailing skills in a variety of construction materials and building types
  • Ability to persuasively and visually present ideas while communicating effectively and tactfully with project and client personnel
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate, under the direction of project leadership

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Art in Architecture and/or MARCH
  • RA/AIA license required
  • 8 - 25+ years’ experience in the design of federal or local government projects. Emphasis on both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build.
  • Proficiency in AUTODESK Building Design Suite (AutoCAD & Revit)
  • LEED GA or LEED AP BD+C preferred
  • Broad knowledge of standard codes and compliance methods, including DoD UFC criteria
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required to undertake multiple projects
  • US citizenship and valid driver's license required for government clearance
  • Must have familiarity with renovation and rehabilitation architectural projects
  • Ability to prepare feasibility studies and programming and planning studies
