Communications Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining relationships between the company and its brand to the outside world. This position will also be responsible for managing communications within the organization itself including - writing press releases, working alongside our external PR vendors, managing our reputation management platform, crafting company-wide newsletters, assisting with content writing and the proofing process for sales proposals and other company branded collateral, creating brand awareness programs, and gathering feedback from employees about the company's communications strategy and developing new, improved strategies upon those comments.All candidates are required to submit their writing samples.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork on internal communications strategies and branding programsAssist in strategy planning and messaging for senior leadershipRespond to media requests, crafting press releases and even managing events on behalf of the companyEnsure consistent messaging across all communications materials and generally being able to balance all of the different tasks involvedOther content production duties as assignedEstablish great relationships with the public and the mediaLiaise with thought leaders in a variety of hospitality fields and backgroundsOrganize high-profile events that generate attention for the companySKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS3+ years of editorial writing and editing experience; marketing, PR and social communications experiences are a plusA BS in marketing, public relations, communications, creative writing or content-related fieldKnowledge of/familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and techniques (proven experience increasing website traffic preferred)Extreme attention to detail with respect to writing accuracy, grammatical correctness, etc. and zero tolerance for errorsStrong critical and strategic thinking skills (demonstration of successful campaigns implementation preferred)Experience writing web content (or a fantastic portfolio, personal blog/website, etc.)Strong work ethic and "do whatever it takes to get the best job done" attitudeOutstanding organizational and planning abilitiesWorking knowledge of MS Office; Word press experience and familiarity with HTML are preferred; photo and video-editing software is a plus;Commitment to constant learning, looks for challenges, embraces collaboration, and looks for novel ways to share the Guest Services, Inc. messageThis position is a great way to gain exposure to a variety of areas of the communications and media industries, while building a solid reputation and a strong professional network.Guest Services, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
