The Repair Security Technician's duties are performed at a domestic facility in a laboratory environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position) * Reading, interpreting, and drawing electrical, electronic, and electromechanical schematics * Reading and interpreting building plans (blueprints) * AC power distribution systems, motor-generators * Motors, motor controls, disconnects, relays * Low voltage DC electronic systems / electromechanical systems * Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems * Use, repair, and/or calibration of electronic test equipment - meters, oscilloscopes * Bench repair of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical equipment to the component level * Mechanical and electromechanical locking systems - electronic strikes, locks * Pedestrian and vehicular access control systems - door controls, vehicle barriers/arrest * Closed-circuit television systems (CCTV) systems - monitors, cameras, switchers * Metal detectors - hand held, walk through * Radio communications systems, voice and digital communications networks * Intrusion Detection Systems - alarms, detectors, sensors * Public Address Systems - emergency notification systems, intercoms Non-Essential Duties: * Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: * NONE Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) * High school diploma or possess a diploma from a technical or vocational school or have acquired equivalent military training. The individual shall have at least three (3) current years of experience in the diagnosis and bench repair of complex circuit boards for technical security systems similar to those employed by the DOS. The individual shall possess the ability to test and troubleshoot TSS equipment, read schematics and maintenance manuals, solder and unsolder components, research parts availability and costs. * Secret clearance required, plus ability to obtain Top Secret. * Must be certified in Softwarehouse.
