In this role, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging reports, place billing and collection calls, maintain the cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. You will be charged with full-cycle AR, handling a high volume of invoices per week, with high attention to detail. This is a long-term temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Washington, District of Columbia area. Your responsibilities - Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers - Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans - Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers - Present information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders - Process payments and compile segments of annual reports and monthly closings in compliance with GAAP - Verify codes and documents - Execute a range of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks - Communicate, reinforce, and support the values, culture, and mission of the organization- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment - Current and relevant Great Plains system experience - AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired - Demonstrated analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy - Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills - Foundational knowledge in Lock Box - Accounts Receivable (AR) experience highly desired - Solid understanding of cash reconciliations - Daily Cash Receipts experience required - Proficiency in cash reconciliations - 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivableAccountemps matches highly skilled professionals with accounting finance jobs at the best companies on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
