The ideal candidate will possess: High school diploma or equivalent A minimum of five (5) years of payroll experience; experience working for an organization with a multi-state presence; understanding of state and local withholdings Payroll certification/CPP (preferred) Ability to complete full-cycle payroll processing for 230+ employees on a bi-weekly basis, with additional batches each quarter for company bonuses and commissions Ability to partner with senior accountant and human resources to ensure that payroll is processed correctly Ability to set up and maintain garnishments while working with related agencies; entering employee loans, pay advances, and other miscellaneous adjustments as needed Ability to complete payroll journal entries and related payables Ability to complete quarterly and/or monthly payroll account analysis and other payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance Experience filing monthly/quarterly/semi-annual/annual filings of local and state taxes (preferred) Ability to develop reports and spreadsheets with the use of Excel and knowledge of developing formulas and using pivot tables Ability to complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required and determined by the senior accountant, including account reconciliation in the general ledger and account analyses Ability to research tax codes and requirements Proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Excel Ability to complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required and determined by the senior accountant and provide administrative support to the CFO Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, professionalism, high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact *All offers of employment for this position are contingent upon favorable results of a thorough background check including a credit report.*
