Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics is an industry leading, outcomes-based, highly progressive, mid-Atlantic regional prosthetics & orthotics company seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) for its FREDERICK, MDA' patient care office.This is a unique, clinical entrepreneurial opportunity to join the Frederick, MD patient care practice team and lead one of the highest revenue generating practices in the Ability portfolio. This position will be responsible for sustaining and growing this thriving established practice in Frederick County and adjacent markets. Three plus years of experience preferred, but not mandatory, depending on strength of skill sets. CPO must be able to treat patients independently, while continuing to build the practice with unsurpassed corporate support and guidance. This includes leveraging insurance knowledge with patients, clinical patient assessment, formulation and implementation of a treatment plan, patient follow-up, developing referral sources, and overall practice management.A' Essential FunctionsDeliver all aspects of the clinical expertise for the practice and surrounding communitiesCollaborate with physicians in the evaluation and analysis of a patientA cents € (TM) s need for prosthetic or orthotic services; recommend treatment options to physicians when necessary.Examine and evaluate patient's needs in relation to disease and functional lossFormulate design of Prosthetic/Orthotic devicesProvide detailed clinical notes within the OPIE Practice Management Software systemUtilizeA' best in classoutsourced manufacturingPerform fitting, including static and dynamic alignments.Evaluate prosthetic/orthotic on patient, adjust to assure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work and perform outcome measures as appropriateInstruct patient in use of deviceIdentify and reconcile issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with device providedProvide follow-up with patients and physiciansProvide in-service and CEU course training to physicians and allied health care professionalsUtilize processes to maximize device quality and medical efficacy, maintaining a proper balance with costs and operational/financial performance.Meet with physicians, case managers and other referral sources to review prosthetic services and capabilities; develop and enhance business relationships to identify and secure ongoing and future sources or referralsResponsible for developing annual business plan and implement strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.Required Skills & AbilitiesEffective communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized oral and written presentation and reports to patients and staffAbility to instruct clinical and non-clinical personnel and customers on objectives of patient care servicesActive listening, reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondenceGood interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists and patientsStrong computer skills including but not limited to OPIE, Outlook, MS Office suite of productsMentor resident or newly certified CPOAbility to work effectively as a team memberEffective organizational, time management and planning skillsQualificationsA baccalaureate OR MasterA cents € (TM) s degree in orthotics and prostheticsCurrent board certification or board eligible in Prosthetics or Orthotics (ie American Board Certified (ABC)
