An international real estate company that has developed over two million square feet of commercial space in Washington DC is looking for a senior level accountant with property management and/or real estate experience. This position will be responsible for the full accounting and reporting functions of real estate portfolios as well as maintaining partnership books for entities. A' Solid accounting, communication and organizational skills are requiredA' Job Description:A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' Responsible for full cycle accounting for operating properties and partnership entities as follows:A' oA' A' A' Book day to day entries and monthly recurring entries including depreciation, amortization and pre-paid entriesoA' A' A' Book inter and intra company transactionsoA' A' A' Calculate and books interest on inter and intra company loanoA' A' A' Prepare and maintains balance sheet reconciliationsoA' A' A' Prepare monthly bank reconciliationsoA' A' A' Process loan payments and works with lenders to meet reporting requirementsoA' A' A' Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsoA' A' A' Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and reforecastsoA' A' A' Prepare annual operating expense reconciliationsoA' A' A' Prepare schedules for owners and external auditors oA' A' A' Co-ordinate financial audits with clients and third party outside auditorsoA' A' A' Co-ordinate tax preparation with clients and third party outside tax preparersoA' A' A' Prepare lease abstracts and maintains leases in the MRI accounting systemA' .A' A' A' A' A' A' Prepare and analyze cash management reports and ensures funding requirements are metA' .A' A' A' A' A' A' Supervise 2 accounts payable accountantsA' .A' A' A' A' A' A' Oversee processing of 1099's A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' Provide technical guidance to support staffA' .A' A' A' A' A' A' Special projects and other duties as assignedA' A' A' A' A' Desired SkillsA' A' A' A' BS in Accounting or equivalent experienceA' A' A' A' 5-10+ years accounting experience - preferably in the real estate industryA' A' A' A' Understanding of property and partnership accounting including CAM reconciliations as well as corporate financial accountingA' A' A' A' Strong organization skills A' A' A' A' Strong attention to detailA' A' A' A' Strong communication skillsA' A' A' A' Ability to work independently as well with others in a diverse and fast paced environment A' A' A' A' Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure while maintaining a positive can-do attitude A' A' A' A' Ability to use independent judgmentA' A' A' A' Ability to interact positivelyA' A' A' A' Ability to take initiative to solve problems and follow upA' A' A' A' Ability to prioritize wiselyA' A' A' A' Working knowledge of MS Office, especially ExcelA' A' A' A' Prior experience with real estate property management accounting software.A' MRI and Sage 300 Real Estate Accounting software (formerly Timberline Office) is a plus.A' A' A' A' We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including health, dental, life, short term, long term disability insurance, parking, and 401k.A' A' A' A' A' A'
